Dive Site - Main Beach
You'll know you are in the right place when you see the boardwalk!
Located in the heart of downtown Laguna, parking becomes a bit of a stress-case if you decide to dive this during the summer. Which is the busiest of months for this tourist mecca. Main beach is home to well-kept bathrooms, public showers and tons of tourist focused activities. A large lifeguard station is also located here and is the entry point for your dive.
Main beach is a shallower dive site, but is home to some of the largest lobster families in the area. Which is amazing to see these groups clustered around each other totally protected by law from being taken! But, the interaction with the life here is always fun. One of the main beach staples is the rays. Plenty of them hang out in the 15-20 foot range either hiding or cruising by on night dives.
This is a protected area and in the no-take zone. So, no hunting is allowed. Use caution when entering and exiting the water. There is a life guard stand at this location.
For added safety, make sure you have a Surface Marker Buoy (SMB), a knife and an underwater light to check out the little critters hiding among the reef!
This location is in the Marine Protected Area. You are not allowed to hunt here.
At this location, you will find Lobster, Sheephead, Garibaldi, Senoritas, Bat Rays, Sand Bass, Sculpin and much, much more!
