Brand - Sherwood
Sherwood Scuba is very pleased to be celebrating sixty years in the diving industry. Sixty years is a long time for any company to be in business and in the scuba diving industry, only a handful of companies that have been around that long. Sherwood Scuba is one of those companies and it didn’t happen by accident. The companies that have lasted are still here because they build quality products, they continue to listen to the needs of their customers, and they have an unending passion for what they do: building safe, reliable dive equipment.
The year was 1955, just three years after Jacques Cousteau's book, Silent World, introduced an eager public to the wonders of scuba diving. The idea of unrestricted movement underwater was as new and thrilling as space travel. Scuba diving, however, was still in its infancy, very much an extreme sport practiced by a handful of adventuring pioneers.
However, Sherwood had already been in business for more than 30 years, designing and manufacturing compressed gas and air management equipment. By the mid-1950s, Sherwood had already earned a reputation for robust engineering and precise manufacturing, two qualities essential to making reliable life support equipment. Throughout those initial years, Sherwood was the “go to” manufacturer for almost every regulator made on the market.
Sixty years later, Sherwood Scuba is still one of the “go to” brands in the diving industry with over 1,100 retailers in the US and Canada and representation in over 150 countries worldwide.
Sherwood Scuba-Innovation, Quality, Performance for over 60 years.
