The Cleo Street Barge was built in 1919 as the USN YC-470. Travelling through the Great Lakes and Panama Canal, it eventually ended up in the hands of the Foss company of Seattle, WA. Working in Laguna Beach as the "Foss 125", it was moored with a deck of gravel for the Griswold Construction Co on November 17th, 1958. On that day, a violent wind storm kicked up while it was moored. Before anyone could take action, the Foss 125 was swamped and eventually sank on her mooring right off Cleo Street in Laguna Beach, CA. 

There's not much else out there to see on this dive. The Foss wreck provides the best viewing area and is mostly fallen apart or covered in sand from storm and wave action. She sits in about 50 feet of water. 

This is a protected area and in the no-take zone. So, no hunting is allowed. Use caution when entering and exiting the water. There is a life guard stand at this location.

For added safety, make sure you have a Surface Marker Buoy (SMB), a knife and an underwater light to check out the little critters hiding among the reef! 

This location is in the Marine Protected Area. You are not allowed to hunt here.
