This program is for divers who are currently Open Water certified. If you are not a certified diver, please see our Open Water Program for more information.

You are required to have mask, snorkel, fins, logbook, PADI materials, Recreational Dive Planner (or dive computer), gloves, booties, surface marker buoy (SMB), and handheld light for this program.

NOTE: All participants must be 15 years or older, they will need to upgrade to the Junior Advanced Open Water program (Call 714-378-2611 for more information on Junior Advanced Open Water) so we can ensure the safety of the child in the open water environment. Thank you!

Step 1:

Pick up your material at a minimum of 2 weeks prior to class. You will receive a confirmation email. Please wait for confirmation prior to starting these steps. YOU MUST complete the five chapter knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter for the dives you will be doing. NOTE: You are not required to do all of the chapters for knowledge reviews. When you arrive in store, you will have items to purchase. The materials for this program are a PADI Advanced Open Water e-learning and the Certification Fee ($183) You will also purchase one trip on the Riviera ($149) for your two dives on a boat. If you require rental scuba equipment, you will purchase the scuba rental at $65. This $65 is for the duration of the program. 

Step 2:

Attend the classroom orientation (2 hours) at TBA (Please call or email to arrange the time) on the Thursday at your selected store. You have the five chapters for you reviewed and paperwork completed with our staff. We will take you on five dives for this program. These specialties include Deep, Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Fish Identification, Night Diver/Boat Diver (the last dive is optional for you). 

Step 3:

Spend two weekend days diving in the ocean for a total of five ocean dives. These sessions last approximately five hours. You could dive at 6 a.m. on shore and be home chilling at noon! The dives on the boat depart at 7am and 12.15pm. We have three beach dives and two boat dives. Do not worry though, you can plan these out as your schedule allows! The program is very flexible for you! 

Step 4:

Smile. You will have completed all the steps at this point! Once you are done with the five dives, you will then see our scheduling team for certification!  

PADI Semi-Private Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The Semi-Private Advanced Open Water Course includes tuition. Your materials are an additional $100. The student must furnish their own scuba quality mask, snorkel, fins, logbook, PADI materials, Recreational Dive Planner (or dive computer), gloves, booties, surface marker buoy (SMB) and handheld light. All of this is purchased through any of our seven Beach Cities Scuba Centers at a discounted cost! Remember that if you buy your gear with us, we give you 10% off anything you select in store!

All class schedules shown here list the initial orientation day, followed by the first weekend of dives. Your ocean dives can be flexibly scheduled for any two weekend days. We are flexible with you! 

ALL Boat dives are also available! Talk to your instructor about enjoying a beautiful, relaxing day on our boat the Riviera and avoid the full gear climbs to and from the shoreline!

The Advanced Open Water Program Schedule*

2022 Group Program Class Schedules – Oceanside and Laguna Beach  – Courses are held on weekends. Request that students pick up their gear 2 weeks prior to do homework!

Day 1 is Fish ID (Check out dive), Night Dive 4pm to 8.30pm (Beach)

Day 2 is Deep, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Navigation 7.15am to 3pm (Boat and Beach)

Winter Schedule: 

Day 1 is Fish ID (Check out dive), Navigation Dive 6am to 11am (Beach)

Day 2 is Deep, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night 12.15pm to 8pm (Boat and Beach)

Summer Schedule:
